Walworth Castle Hotel just outside Darlington in County Durham, was built in 1189 and is one of the few castle hotels in England. Recently refurbished to an extremely high standard by owners Rachel and Chris Swain, Walworth Castle Hotel really is the ideal venue to sample England's Living History.
Each of the 34 bedrooms and numerous reception rooms has its own particular character many with individually designed upholstery. The feature rooms have been recently refurbished to an extremely high standard.
The choice of hospitality at Walworth Castle Hotel is second to none. There are two restaurants located within the hotel.
This award winning restaurant offers contemporary dishes in a traditional setting. Situated within the castle, this 16th century room is stylishly decorated in burgundy, cream and gold. Our head chef Steven Myers prepares each imaginative dish to order.
Open every evening and Sunday Lunch, booking is often required to guarantee availability.
The Farmers Bar is a traditional English pub. With hearty good food, and a good atmosphere. Serving traditional bar meals sandwiches around a roaring log fire. This informal setting is well known locally for Carvery meals.
The Farmers Bar is open every lunchtime, 7 days a week from 12.00pm until 2.00pm and again in the evening from 7.00pm until 11.00pm, where food is served until 9.30pm.
