We are a family run small hotel with a large reputation for friendliness and our attention to your holiday needs. We want you to relax and enjoy your stay with us here in our friendly, informal atmosphere we try to create.
The mighty cader idris is literally situated in our back garden, we are only a 5 mins walk away from the start of the Minffordd Path which leads you up this impressive mountain.
The original parts of the building are over 400 years old as the building was a drovers inn back in the day, so as you Would expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building. We have tried to keep the interior style & decor traditional to a building of this type, without over modernisation which would in our opinion loose the charm & character of the house. We do also have our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months.
We have 7 very comfortable, central heated en suite bedrooms in total 2 doubles, 1 superior double, 2 twins and 2 singles, we only have 2 rooms downstairs 1 double and 1 twin, and these are also our pet friendly rooms
We have a small restaurant with 7 tables seating a maximum of 20 people. Dinner is served here each evening where you can sample chefs Dinner which is prepared using local produce where possible on our Aga.
We have 2 lounges available for guest to relax in at any time of the day maybe after dinner with a glass or two of your favourite drink from our extensively well stocked bar. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant with a selection of fresh fruit, cereals & fruit juices, full breakfast`s are cooked freshly to order.
We have deliberately refrained from adding TVs to our bedroom as we feel and most people agree that they come here to stay with us, relax & enjoy the peacefulness` & tranquillity of this stunning area of southern Snowdonia in a building that has welcomed visitors for over 400 years.
Directions
we are sitauted on the A487 at the junction of the B4405 in Tal-y-llyn. Approx 10 miles from Dolgellau, Tywyn & Machynlleth. Sat Nav's have been know to send our guests to the rear of Tal-y-llyn lake through gates on a narrow single track lane.......Please dont take this route as this is incorrect
